The Iowa State Athletics Department will be hosting the annual Cyclone Wrestling Awards Banquet & Steak Fry on Sunday, April 27th. The event will be held in Heartland Hall at the Jacobson Athletic Building in Ames. New this year, the format for the event has changed. Doors will open at 12:30pm with a short awards program beginning at 1pm. Following the awards guests will be able to join the Iowa State Wrestling team and staff for a fun, casual grill-your-own steak fry.

Iowa State Finishes 12th at 2014 NCAA Nationals
The 2014 NCAA Wrestling Championships wrapped up Saturday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena with Iowa State finishing just outside the top-10 in 12th with 42 points.

Gadson and Moreno Earn Academic All-Big 12 Honors
The 2014 Academic All-Big 12 Wrestling Team was announced by league officials. Redshirt junior Kyven Gadson and redshirt freshman Gabe Moreno were selected to the Academic All-Big 12 First-Team, his first Big 12 academic honor.

Iowa State Finishes Fourth In Dual Attendance
For the 12th straight season, the Iowa State wrestling team (9-7 overall, 1-2 Big 12) finished in the top-six the nation for dual attendance.

Cyclones Falls to #1 Minnesota
The Iowa State wrestling team (9-7 overall, 1-2 Big 12) fell to No. 1 Minnesota (14-1 overall, 7-1 Big Ten) 27-12 Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at Hilton Coliseum

Cyclones Fall to #5 UNI 24-13
The Iowa State wrestling team (8-4 overall, 1-2 Big 12) fell on the road Saturday evening to No. 5 UNI (10-0 overall, 5-0 MAC), 24-13.

Cyclones Snag Road Win vs Arizona State
The Iowa State wrestling team (8-3 overall, 1-2 Big 12) got bonus point wins from its two All-Americans en route to a 21-12 road win tonight at Wells Fargo Arena over Arizona State (6-6 overall, 1-0 Pac-12).

   It was a party atmosphere for the 170 plus fans, coaches, wrestlers and their families in the Grand Ballroom at the Bricktown Hotel and Convention Center in Oklahoma City, OK following the 2014 NCAA Championships.  The NCAA post- NCAA Tournament social, sponsored by the Cyclone Wrestling Club was an event designed to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2013-14 Cyclone wrestling team and to congratulate the NCAA National Qualifiers who all scored team points resulting in the Cyclones’ 12th place finish.

Coach Kevin Jackson discussed the just completed NCAA Tournament and introduced the wrestling staff and the six Cyclone National Qualifiers.  He complimented each wrestler and thanked their parents for allowing him to coach their sons.  He also thanked the Cyclone Wrestling Club for their support throughout the year.
The food was delicious and plentiful and a good time was had by everyone.
