Cyclone Wrestling Club History
The Club was founded by legendary coach, Dr. Harold Nichols in 1980. Coach Nichols coached a number of outstanding young men who went on to great success in international competition. There was still a great need for an organization that would allow these former Cyclones to continue to train at Iowa State and pursue their dreams of world championships and Olympic Gold. By following the adage of "steel sharpens steel," he realized that if these world class athletes were training with the club, it would only strengthen the program and help make the Iowa State Cyclones the best wrestling program in the country.
